Tecno introduces the Phantom V Flip2 and Phantom V Fold2 foldables with an integrated AI assistant.

Tecno launched two new foldables today – Phantom V Fold2 and Phantom V Flip2. Both phones come with the manufacturer’s AI Suite, and are the first devices to have the feature out of the box.

The Fold2 evolves from its predecessor while retaining key features, such as the Dimensity 9000+ chip, the 7.85″ internal screen and the 6.42″ bezel.

The biggest change is the body, which is now under 6.1 mm thin when unfolded and under 12 mm when folded. It has also lost weight – now it is 249 grams, from about 300 gr, despite the increased battery size.

Phantom V Fold2 has Ella AI assistant, powered by Google Gemini. Full AI features include Smart Q&A (basically a chatbot for real-time answers), AI Summary that can be applied to PDFs and web pages, AI Translation with real-time translation mobile, and AI writing for text summarization, creative writing, proofreading and rewriting. ability.

Other features that will make use of the big screen are AI Artboard, which turns text into images, and AI Wallpaper, which allows users to create their own wallpaper from a simple text message. Tecno also uses AI to power its Universal Tone technology, which captures different skin tones in photos.

The camera island on the Phantom V Fold2 has been completely redesigned. It’s a triple shooter, and the three sensors on the back are 50 MP – the main wide-angle camera, the ultra-wide shooter, and the portrait lens. There are also two 32 MP cameras behind the punch holes – one on the cover screen and the other on the inner screen.

The new Tecno Flip phone has a large screen cover with a resolution of 1,056 x 1,056 instead of the small circle that was previously seen on the Phantom V Flip.

Here, we have a 3.64″ square panel that uses the size of the cover and surrounds the cameras, similar to what Motorola did with the Razr and Xiaomi followed with the Mix Flip. The inner panel is 6.9 “LTPO AMOLED with Full HD + resolution.

Tecno explained that the cover will support more than 2000 applications “to make life easier for users who usually don’t even need to open the main screen.” The screen cover can also be made with pets that can be touched, and can play games, music.

It does not have card-style functionality but instead brings what is called a desktop application center, where users can power up multiple devices without “idle sliding”. The display also supports full keyboard display for dialing and typing.

Unlike the Fold, the Flip hasn’t seen any major changes in weight or size – it’s still a sub-200 gr foldable that’s 7.6 mm thin when unfolded and 16 mm thin when folded.
